If  Start/End times are not enabled and custom columns for the Hours table have not been defined then recording hours against a task for a week is simply a matter of entering a number of hours for each day.

If Notes are enabled then they can be associated with entered hours either by double-clicking on the input field or clicking on the Notes icon at the end of the row.

Add Task

Detail Entry

If  Start/End times are enabled or custom columns for the Hours table have been defined then recording hours cannot be done directly via the week view but must be instead entered via the detail panel below to allow for the entry of the additional information.
